I remember seeing a clip from a Prince of Tennis film where a special technique was visualised as a stampeding horde of dinosaurs fleeing a meteor – your post sounds pretty accurate.

Eh, there is manga with ridiculous superattacks in billiards, in bowling, in ordinary playing cards (!!!), and after Yakitate i wont be surprised by anything. Anything.
